Most problems are optional. The rest are tasks or weather. The skill is knowing which is which, fast.

Write down the problems you're carrying this week; there are probably twenty. Sort them honestly and you'll find a third are forecasts and replays that aren't real, a third are things you can't control and have been fighting anyway, and the rest split between tasks you haven't started and problems you created with a yes, a purchase or a delay. A problem-free life isn't one where nothing goes wrong. It's one where the sources are closed, the field is cleared weekly, and what remains is met without the struggle that makes it hurt. This is the method, built on purpose, in thirty days.

  • The full playbook (about 28 pages, phone or laptop)
  • The honest definition, and why the Stoics and modern psychology agree on it
  • The sort: tasks, weather, noise and self-made problems, with a different response for each, in two minutes
  • Closing the sources: the arithmetic of yes, the four money sources, the body problems disguised as life problems, and the three kinds of people problem
  • Solving tasks (next actions, decisions, the weekly clear), setting down weather (acceptance that isn't resignation), refusing noise (worry postponement, replays, opinions, the feed)
  • Simplifying, building capability so problems become errands, and the daily, weekly, quarterly and yearly practices
  • A 30-day plan and eight worksheets, including the inventory you'll keep for life

What's inside

01

What problem-free actually means

The two mistakes, what Epictetus said, what psychology adds (worry, open loops, psychological flexibility), and the definition that is actually achievable.

02

The sort

The inventory, the four kinds (task, weather, noise, self-made), the tests, why sorting alone removes weight, and the two-minute sort for every new problem.

03–04

Where problems come from: yes, and money

Default to no, the three questions before a yes, repairing commitments; the four money sources and the five rules.

05–06

Where problems come from: the body, and other people

Tiredness disguised as life problems and the four basics; who is in your life, unclear agreements, things left unsaid, and boundaries as rules about you.

07

Solving: tasks

Why tasks get carried, the five-step method, the ten-minute rule, decisions in disguise, and the weekly clear.

08

Setting down: weather

Acceptance that is not resignation, why the struggle is the problem, the four-step practice, the past as weather, and preparation versus struggle.

09

Refusing: noise

Forecasts and worry postponement, replays, opinions and the spotlight effect, the news and the feed, and the test.

10–11

Simplifying and capability

Things, commitments, accounts and decisions as surfaces for problems; the skills that remove the most problems and how to learn one badly in a weekend.

12

Keeping the number low

Daily, weekly, quarterly and yearly practices, and what a problem-free life means when the big weather comes.

13–14

The 30-day plan and worksheets

The sort and the body, close the sources, simplify and build, the practices. Inventory, sources, worry note, decision sheet, calendar, day-30 review.

Is it for you?

Who it's for

  • People who feel they are always putting out fires and never getting ahead of them.
  • People who lie awake with a list.
  • Anyone who has noticed that some people seem to have very few problems and wants to know how they do it.
  • Readers who prefer a method to a mantra.

Not for you if

  • You want a promise of zero. Nobody can give you one; the book is honest on page one about what it can and can't do.
  • You're in a crisis that needs more than a book. If so, please use the crisis numbers on the first page and come back later.
  • You want to be told that your problems are everyone else's fault. The book shows you how many you created, kindly, because those are the ones you can stop.

Who's behind this

A Problem-Free Life is written by Manthan Bhendkar, founder of Asendify, whose playbooks take one hard subject, find what actually works, and turn it into a plan with worksheets.

The method draws on Stoic philosophy, on acceptance and commitment therapy and the research on psychological flexibility, on the worry and rumination literature, and on the next-action discipline that runs Asendify itself: a company that keeps its own problem count low by closing sources and clearing weekly rather than by firefighting.

Questions

Is a problem-free life actually possible?

Not a life with zero problems, and the book never claims that. What is possible, and what the book delivers, is a life with far fewer problems (because the sources are closed) and far less suffering over the ones that remain (because they're sorted into tasks, weather and noise and handled accordingly).

Is this Stoicism?

Partly. The dichotomy of control is the spine, and the book says so. It adds the modern evidence (acceptance and commitment therapy, the worry research, the open-loops research) and a practical system: the sort, the weekly clear, the source audits.

What's the single most useful idea?

The sort. Every problem is a task (act), weather (accept and prepare), noise (refuse attention) or self-made (fix and close the source). Learning to sort in two minutes removes most of the weight before anything is solved.

Does it help with anxiety and overthinking?

Part 9 is built for it: worry postponement, the replay interrupt, the spotlight effect and a rule for the feed. It's self-help, not treatment; if anxiety is stopping you functioning, see a doctor as well.

What counts as results for the guarantee?

By day 30: an inventory clearly shorter than on day 1 with every item sorted and every task owning a next action, at least three sources closed, four weekly clears done, and a lower noise count.
